What should you pay attention to when updating to Lucanet 25?

Many Lucanet customers will be confronted with this in the second quarter of 2025: the update to Lucanet 25. This is partly because Lucanet version 24 will be declared end-of-life on May 5, 2025. In this blog post, we explain the main points of attention when updating to Lucanet 25.

New functionalities

The core Lucanet application has been renamed Lucanet Consolidation & Financial Planning (CFP). The updates for Lucanet 24.1 and Lucanet 25 are mainly aimed at integrating Lucanet CFP into the new Lucanet CFO Solution Platform. This is Lucanet’s cloud platform where you can log in not only to the Consolidation & Financial Planning module, but also to Lucanet ESG Reporting, among other things. This means that the changes mainly concern user provisioning. For example, a new method for activating single sign-on has been introduced. Please note that Lucanet licenses still technically consist of separate modules. Having access to the Lucanet CFO Solution Platform does not automatically mean that you also have access to Lucanet ESG Reporting.

In addition, the layout of the traditional Lucanet client has been modified so that it is aligned with the CFO Solution Platform.

Activation of the Cloud platform

If you are currently on Lucanet 24, we recommend activating the Lucanet Cloud Platform only after the update to Lucanet 25. This is because user authentication, and any Active Directory integration, is handled differently.

New version of the Software Manager

Lucanet 25 requires a new version of the Lucanet.Software Manager. If you have administrator rights on your PC, you can install it yourself. Otherwise, your IT department may need to do this for you. The latest version of the Software Manager can be downloaded here:

Interfaces and scripts

Some of Lucanet’s standard import interfaces and scripts require a new version when updating to Lucanet 25. This applies in any case to the following scripts:

• Exact Online (version 3.2.6 or higher is required for LN25)
• Visma.net (version 2.1.5 or higher is required for LN25)
• Exact Multivers (version 1.2.1 or higher is required for LN25)
• Indexation assistant (version 1.2.1 or higher is required for LN25)
• Extrapolation assistant (version 1.3.2 or higher is required for LN25)
• Copy postings assistant (version 1.1.1 or higher is required for LN25)

Gateway server

If you have installed a local gateway server, often used to automate data imports from on-premise ERP systems, you will also need to update this gateway server to the latest Lucanet version.
