In Lucanet, you can set how numbers are displayed in several places. With the right settings, you can make the figures look the way you want them to. In this blog post, we show you where to find these settings and how to use them optimally.
Under “Extras” → “Change language and formatting” you can define the default formatting for numbers. Here you can specify, among other things, whether you want to display thousands and decimals with periods and commas or vice versa. You can also choose how negative numbers are displayed — for example as -10,000.00 or in parentheses as (10,000.00).
These settings determine the default display throughout the entire application and are user-specific. A colleague in, for example, the United States may therefore have different settings than you.
If you use the CFO Solution Platform, these settings can be found under your user settings in the bottom left. To access them, navigate to “My profile” → “Change formatting preferences”.
Would you like more control over how numbers are displayed in specific reports or tables? Use the “Configure View” option. Here you can set whether numbers are displayed with or without decimals and whether values should be shown in thousands or, for example, millions.

Not all data is suitable for display in thousands. Consider, for example, FTEs (Full-Time Equivalents) or other statistical values. In such cases, the default settings for each item or formula can be adjusted.
Open the “Properties” of the relevant item or formula, go to the “Number format” tab, and configure how you want the numbers within that item to be displayed. This keeps your report both accurate and clear. Unlike the previous settings, this setting applies to all users.
