Two worlds come together in the name Arithma. On the one hand, the Arithma is a mechanical calculating device from the 20th century and has strong historical connotations as a precursor to the calculator. On the other hand, the device helped with addition and subtraction, which in turn is central to the world of finance. As founders of Arithma Consulting, Simon and Daniël share a common history at the history faculty of Leiden University, but have been active in finance (software) for their entire professional careers. In other words: Arithma.
